About Us
The Jewish Women's Network in the UK was launched in 1993. The JWN is a resource for Jewish women across the spectrum who wish to improve and enhance the status of women in Jewish life through action, dialogue and learning.
Our aims are:
To create a framework within which all Jewish women can engage in dialogue.
To support endeavours among women across the spectrum to improve their status and participation in Jewish life.
To develop and promote learning opportunities for Jewish women across the spectrum.
Statement of Intent
JWN is both a resource for individual Jewish women and a catalyst for collective change. It seeks actively to promote women's identities and to empower their growth and self-esteem by facilitating the sharing of knowledge, contacts and skills whilst constantly evolving to meet the challenges we face. JWN celebrates the diversity of Jewish women of all ages, working to build bridges within the Jewish communities as well as cross-culturally.
Past events nationally and locally include workshops and dialogue groups on such topics as circumcision, intermarriage, body image, assertiveness skills and a series of biblical textual study sessions.
